Well, sort of. Obesity certainly doesn’t protect us from hypertension, heart disease, or muffin tops. BUT, it might just help you the next time you need to smuggle a weapon. At least that’s how George Vera, a Texas inmate, sees it.
George Vera is basically the Tex-Mex version of Fat Bastard, only significantly more violent.
According to Houston’s KPRC-TV, 600-pund Vera is now facing charges after smuggling a 9mm handgun and 2 clips of ammunition into the Harris County Jail he’s currently residing in. Unfortunately for this big hunk o’ love, he had some trouble keeping the weapon hidden in the shower.
A spokesman for the Houston Police Officers Union says cadets are trained how to search morbidly obese people, and we’re wondering exactly what that training is like.
