Top 5 Reasons I Live in NYC

Written by Bryce

It’s all true.

People always ask me why I choose to live in NYC… and I often have no idea why. I usually crave wide open spaces, greenery, and people wearing “dungarees.” But, every now and then I remember why I’m here.

1. I’m Never, Ever Bored. On any given Monday night there’s always a place to be, restaurant to try, event to go to, movie premiere to attend, or some other exciting option. Where else in America is that an option? And don’t say LA, because everything there closes by 2 AM. We’re open all night, kids.

2. Everyone is Batsh*t Crazy. They are. I love it. The crazies fill our streets (and my heart). And this kind of stuff can happen without anyone really blinking an eye:

3. Legally I Have To Live Here. I had a kid here, his dad lives here, and so I’m sort of forced via the NY legal system to stay here (and I suppose my moral compass, too). It’s that glamorous.

4. NYC or London. I mean, if it wasn’t going to be here it was going to be London… and I really don’t know that I’d fit in where everyone stifles emotion (although I love the hell out of London).

5. Food, Glorious Food. New York is the melting pot of every single culture on Earth, and I’m happy to say I’ve eaten most of the foods this planet has to offer… all within 5 miles of my apartment.
