Getting Buzzed in the Rainforest

On a regular pre-fashion week Tuesday like any other, my dear friend Matt turned to me and said “Hey, I’m gonna go for a 2 mile run.  When I get back we should have a nightcap.”  It seemed reasonable enough… he would go out and exert himself in some physical way while I held down the fort by blackberry messaging with various people.  So while he jogged around the tip of Manhattan, I searched for the perfect cocktail ingredients.  What I found turned out to be nearly magical.

I had a random lime that was brought over by a gentleman caller the week prior, ice, and a beautiful bottle of VeeV.  VeeV is like vodka from the rainforest, only better: A 60 proof liqueur (vodka is 80 proof), VeeV mixes like vodka, only with a smoother finish. Distilled at the only windpowered distillery in the U.S., VeeV mixes organic Idaho grains with acai, the blueberry look-alike fruit that has 57% more antioxidants than a pomegranate.

When Matt returned I had two highball glasses with ice, squeezed fresh-ish lime juice, and plenty of VeeV.  The light, smooth buzz from this drink encouraged one of the best discussions we’ve had in ages.  We debated rainforest preservation policies, appropriate penis sizes for adequate orgasms, and Matt’s sort of sick Oedipus complex (which he wants me to clarify has nothing to do with actually doing his madre).

I imagine there’s something in VeeV that encourages thoughtful, intellectual conversation amongst drunk people?

At under $35 a bottle, this is the perfect addition to any liquor cabinet.  It mixes well with just about everything, is good for the rainforest, and will probably replace your regular vodka.
