Get Ready For A Fashion Fueled Little Mermaid

If you know anything about my life, you should know that Disney movies are my go-to for days when I just need time to relax. I’ve been patiently waiting for the Maleficent movie staring Angelina Jolie and now I’ve got something else to add to my calendar.

Vulture is now reporting that Sofia Coppola is tasked with re-creating The Little Mermaid. If you know anything about Coppola films, you should know that they’re always a lot more glamorous than the story actually is. In Coppola’s adaption of the infamous Bling Ring that was released in 2013, the story showed the group of upper middle-class robbers clubbing, drugging and sneaking into the houses of some of Hollywood’s most famous. Instead of tracking the court trails and showcasing how the incident affected the lives of the rich and famous, it was more about what they stole and how they stole it.

You can be sure that this adaptation will include some sort of drug usage and a far cry from the children’s film we all watched as a children. Ariel will most likely be a coke head with a penchant for sleeping with just to get back at her father. The clothes? I expect to see a lot of Versace and Sarah Burton’s work for the house of Alexander McQueen. No word on when the movie is planned on being released but I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

I can’t wait! What about you?
