What $100 is Really Worth

Written by Bryce

$100 is lunch for two with cocktails for two in NYC, or nearly an entire mortgage payment in Missouri. See where your money is the stretchiest:

Granted, this map is not totally perfect because life in NYC is more expensive than Buffalo, but it does a pretty good job of illustrating where the dollar is worth the most in this country. If you’re into, um, life adventures, Missouri is looking pretty good right now. The local government is basically giving away houses, so you wouldn’t even need that $100 for a mortgage. Boom.

  • San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara ($81.97)
  • Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk ($82.31)
  • San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward ($82.44)
