Travel Spotting: Winter Vacations

I was having a delightful conversation over lunch about winter depression (this will be her first full winter in the North) when it struck me that in a month or two, this city is going to be covered over with a layer of frozen white, and I will be holed up in my apartment like a wayward mole-rat drinking green tea and fantasizing about the tropics. Despite the fact that once in a while I love a good ski trip (mostly for the warm blanket-cold face sex, hot chocolate, jacuzzi action, and death defying ski tricks) I am a child of the sun, and like nothing more than stretching out on a warm beach wearing next to nothing, and drinking next to everything.

That being said, there is a definite charm to a blanket of freshly fallen snow (before it turns to slush the color of my grandmother’s bush) so I can understand why some people love winter vacations. Here are a few photos from different wintery locales, sure to inspire you if you are looking to travel north during the coming winter months.
