Gorgeous alpine scenery? Check. Access to beautiful jewelry? Check. A giant head built into the hill-side that spews water and has crystal eyes?

The Hill Giant in Wattens, Austria is not only an awesome monument (and a weird monument, if we are being honest) but its also the entrance to the world famous Swarovski Crystal Factory. It was created in 1983 (my birth-year) by Andre Heller as part of the World of Crystals exhibition. The Hill Giant comes complete with cavern trails and a crystal shop. Does all this make sense? Not really, but I often struggle to understand what is going on in the heads of some Europeans. I guess if I want to find out, all I have to do is walk around inside the head of The Hill Giant.

Maybe I’ll emerge iced up like Nicole Kidman’s heart.
