Travel Spotting: The Faces of New York

Written by Bryce

Love this video… it’s inspiring, artsy, and a little scary.

New York is the kind of place where people go to become themselves, form an identity, and then sort of blend into a million other different identities. It’s the only place I know of in this great country that not only facilitates, but encourages, total individuality. You want pink hair? Do it. You want to pretend to be a hobbit and work in a dungeon-themed sushi restaurant at night just to pay all your Lord of the Rings fantasies? You’re welcome to it. You want to transform yourself from country chick to glamor girl? Welcome home, babydoll. I love this portrait series within a short video showing the many different faces of New Yorkers. The easy faces, the hard-to-see faces, the beautiful smiles of children, the unforgiving streets, and the general grittiness of the world’s greatest city.
