Top Spring 2011 Beauty Trends

Written by Bryce

Spring 2011 is going to be a landmark beauty season: you’ll feel like the 80’s threw up all over the 90’s and landed somewhere in the middle of 2011.  And you’ll love it.

Here’s a glimpse of what to expect from our girls at MarieClaire.com:

1. Violet makeup
From pale lilac to bright violet, purple makeup — especially in eyeshadow — is the bold color of choice next season. My favorite? The Lancôme Violet Groove polish (new for Spring 2011) on nails at Chris Benz.

Spotted at: Jason Wu, Chris Benz, Monique Lhuillier, Rag & Bone, Victoria Beckham, Whitney Eve

2. The side part
Very ’70s schoolgirl, deep side parts anchored hairstyles from stick straight to beachy messy. Adding barrettes and hiding behind sideswept bangs is optional.

Spotted at: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Badgley Mischka, Carolina Herrera, Chris Benz, Cynthia Rowley, Cynthia Steffe, Dennis Basso, Diane Von Furstenberg, DKNY, Donna Karan, Jason Wu, Lela Rose, Marc by Marc, Michael Kors, Narciso Rodriguez, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte

3. Gold metallics
Whether it was glittery eyelids at Anna Sui or gilded lashes and lips at Rodarte, gold has replaced 2010’s pearly silvers as
the must-have metallic for 2011.

Spotted at: Anna Sui, Behnaz Sarafpour, Donna Karan, Rodarte, Thakoon

You’ll want clean, clear skin and bright eyes before all that dramatic makeup, though.  We suggest this all-in-one skincare pack from Elizabeth Grant for under $70:
