Top 5 Deep Conditioners on Any Budget

Written by Bryce

We’ve put together another fabu “Top 5” list of conditioners we love that suit every type of hair and budget.

The girls here at TheLuxurySpot are all different.  Some of us have fine blonde hair, others (like myself) have thick curly tresses that need extra love and attention.  We’ve put together another fabu “Top 5” list of conditioners we love that suit every type of hair and budget.

1. Samy Deep Conditioning Treatment is thick and fragrant.  We let it sit for 10 minutes with a hot towel (perfect time to put on a face mask), and rinsed with warm water.  Hair was noticeably softer and knot-free.  For under $5, it’s a cheap and cheerful way to hydrated locks.

2. Russell Organics Argan Oil is the purest form of Argan oil you can buy.  Argan oil is known as “liquid gold” in the beauty community for it’s ability to moisturize on a deep level without feeling greasy or heavy.  The oil is perfect for taming frizz, adding shine, or sealing light moisture into fine hair without the weight of a heavy conditioner.   In our opinion, Argan oil is a must-add ingredient to any hair routine.

3. Paul Mitchell Super Charged Moisturizer is meant to be used on a weekly basis.  It’s formulated with panthenol, soy protein, and vitamin E to leave hair soft, shiny, and easy to manage.  We liked it for because the scent seemed gender-neutral, which means if your boyfriend has gorgeous locks he can maintain them from your shower.

4. Paul Labrecque Repair Condition is a restorative hair mask that combines the power of silk proteins, egg, soy, and even macadamia nut oils to seal moisture into every strand of your hair.  It’s rich, thick, smells delish and get’s the job done.  It’s a bit pricey at $40, but using the combo will leave your hair hydrated without feeling too heavy.  Especially good for locks prone to humidity-frizz.

5.  EMK Placental is the priciest of the batch, but if you’re worried about thinning hair, it might just be the ticket for you.  The core ingredient is placental protein extract, known to strengthen the root of each strand and help prevent hair loss and damage.  Each little vial contains a loose, non-greasy liquid that is meant to be applied directly to the scalp.  For those of you with fine, thin hair, this treatment will work best for you because it won’t weigh your hair down at all.

…and for those of you on a REALLY tight budget, here’s a recipe for an at-home deep conditioning treatment.  It’s ideal for medium-coarse hair since the natural oils might weigh hair down.

1 large ripe avocado, vanilla extract

Use a fork to mash the avocado in a bowl, add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract (simply for aromatic reasons).  Work the mixture through hair. Use a wide-tooth comb to make sure the distribution is even.  Wrap a warm towel around your head for 15 minutes, rinse.  Shampoo and condition as normal.
