The Man Behind the T&T

Written by Shannon

Celebrate Charles Tanqueray’s 200th birthday with the Classic T&T.

Who in the world is Charles Tanqueray you ask? Well, he is the man responsible for that Tanqueray gin you’re drinking and he has a birthday coming up. His 200th birthday, in fact, and to what better way to celebrate the creator of Tanqueray gin then raising a Tanqueray and Tonic in his memory. To the man who gave us Tanqueray gin, classy cocktails for us to toast for years to come, and this Classic T&T recipe!

The Classic T&T

Ingredients:

-1.25 oz. TANQUERAY London Dry Gin

-4 oz. tonic water

-Fresh lime wedges

-High-ball glass

-Stirrer

-Ice

Recipe:

  1. It starts by squeezing the juice of a lime wedge  into the bottom of a tapered, modern high-ball glass-designed specifically to accentuate the T&T effervescence and botanical/citrus bouquet.
  2. Fill the glass two-thirds with ice, then add TANQUERAY London Dry Gin and tonic water. Stir Well
  3. Run a wedge of lime around the rim of the glass so the fresh smell and taste of citrus greet you as you drink.
  4. Finally, drop a fresh piece of lime into your now perfectly mad T&T.
