Sweet & Salty Lusciousness

My addiction to chocolate and all things sweet runs far beyond the brief spurt of having an infinite supply of candy during Valentine’s day season. But sometimes my indulgence of the sweet tooth requires some contrasting salt.  My favorite mix-ins? Popcorn, chips, maybe some nuts. So when I discovered a small arsenal of chocolates made with salty goodness, I couldn’t help but be intrigued. And being the good person that I am, I am happy to share with you my preferred selection of the bunch:

Okay. These things FLEW out of the bag like it was their job once the Luxury Spot crew opened them up. Who knew such heavenly goodness could come in such a small package?! This simple combination of  chocolate and potato chips are the perfect blend of salt and sweet, and if you don’t have an addiction to chocolate yet, you will after you taste these. We wish they made these in five pound bags… maybe they would have lasted longer than a minute!

Per my bio, I’m obsessed with Vosges Haut-Chocolat , and they happily continue to fuel my chocoholism. I am known to frequent their location in SoHo (132 Spring St) as often as seven times a week in search of their decadent concotions, so when I heard that there was a chocolate collection specially made for mail-order tasty treat shop Zingerman’s , I had to try. And just as I had expected, these caramels did not disappoint. Some surprisingly awesome saccharine and savory blends? Think sun dried Sicilian tomatoes with Spanish paprika, and Parmigiano-Reggiano with Tellicherry pepper. Best for adventurous chocohlics who are willing to go out on a limb!

Try either of these amazing fusions, and I promise that you’ll only want more!
