Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite fantasy is to live off the grid in the middle of the woods, far away from any prancing homos, annoying girls, and horrible NYC people who take themselves too seriously. Anyone who knows me also knows it’ll probably never happen because IFL the Internet.

Regardless, fantasies are fantasies because they may happen one day. So if I ever do decide to hit the skids, I am definitely going to live in a converted shipping container.

Shipping containers only cost about $2,000 to buy, and from there you can pretty much build whatever kind of house you want. If you add wheels, technically you will be living in a mobile home, but you also won’t have to deal with permits and stuff, so it’s a better deal. Repurposing shipping containers is also considered ‘green’, so you will be doing your part to save this sinking ship we call Earth.

The following shipping container homes should provide you with all the inspiration you need to flee from society and remake your kingdom in the woods. See you there?
