Scrub Showdown

The Fan-Favorite VS The High-End Luxury Brand

Bliss‘ Blood Orange+White Pepper Sugar Scrub vs. NUDE‘s Moisturizing Body Polish

What they say:

Bliss: A vibrantly scented sugar scrub for the body, lathers up for gentle and supremely sudsy, smoothing, softening skin cleansing and exfoliating action!
• sucrose granules gently exfoliate and smooth skin
• antioxidants protect against aging free radical damage (vitamins A, C, E)
• sunflower oil leaves skin soft and supple
• burst of orange and pepper delivers a warm, clean, invigorating ‘scent’-sation

NUDE: silky smooth nourishing exfoliation for all bodies.

this exotic blend of hibiscus monoi and organic sugar gently moisturises whilst polishing from top to toe. Fine sugar granules slowly dissolve with water when rinsed, leaving a delicate layer of rich monoi for irresistibly silky, smooth skin.

What I say: So yes, the NUDE packaging itself is impressive, but the product itself only weighs in at 6.8 oz. A little more than half of the 11.6 oz. in the Bliss container, which definitely adds more bang for your buck at $36USD (compare at $52USD for NUDE.) However, the clever cube shape provides a more ergonomic design for in slippery shower time usage.

Under their caps, the scrubs were visibly opposite in texture. The Bliss scrub (right) is meant to foam up – which it does, quite nicely – into a gently exfoliating lather – which it also does. As a sugar scrub, it quickly melts into the skin and washes off clean without an oily residue, only leaving behind a fresh sweet citrus scent.

The NUDE scrub (left) is actually a nightmare to scoop out – I recommend saving your mani and picking up this scoop for $1 from Sabon – but provides a much more abrasive exfoliation so only a small amount is needed to scrub down. One bell/whistle offered by this luxe brand is a hibiscus monoi film that is left behind after the sugar granules have melted away that locks in freshly plump woody-lavender fragranced skin.

Overall, I don’t like to mess around with my scrubs. The Bliss scrub is definitely more of an everyday product – perfect for the summer when you’re baring more skin – and while the easy application and foaming/cleansing assets will keep it in my vanity until next season – NUDE Body Polish is the perfect – lightly scented, moisture-locking, time-saving – perk for my winter regimen.

The Winner: NUDE Moisturizing Body Polish ($52USD from Sephora.com)
