Tips To Improve Your Online Dating Life

Written by corey

Online dating is hard but it doesn’t have to be.

Ha! I can’t with that line I just wrote. Online dating is our Everest. Do you know how hard it is to be the elusive chanteuse that you’re meant to be? Very because our lives are plastered all over the damn internet. Personally, I still can’t find a guy to take me out on a second date. (Full Disclosure: It may be because I’m easy.)

While I am no expert in online dating, there are some people out there who claim to be. Sure, it’s totally cool to call yourself an expert on something that hasn’t been around for more than 10 years or so. That’s okay, she’s probably also a social media expert too. Lisa Hoen of ProfilePolish had these tips because of course she did.

1) Show, Don’t Tell

Apparently, if you want someone to believe something you need to tell them a story about it. Don’t just say “I really like whiskey,” you have to tell them about that time you robbed the liquor store and spray painted the streets with your alias “whiskey kid.” People don’t have to believe you, so you need to show them!

2) Be selfish.

Your profile should mostly be about yourself. As I scroll through your profile, I want to see where in my life you’d fit. I don’t want to know that you’re going to buy me flowers all the time because screw flowers, I want diamonds.

3) Be positive.

You need to turn any negative you have, into a positive. That is the most annoying thing that anyone can ever say to you, because negatives are bad and positives are good. Don’t tell them that you’re always late but say something like “I’ll keep you on your toes.”

4) No selfies.

Apparently, pictures of yourself that you’ve taken of yourself are not attractive. I don’t know what kind of bullshit this girl is talking about but selfies are the greatest. I want to make sure that you know your angles better than someone else.

5) Change your picture

People who didn’t find you attractive in one photo, will find you attractive in a different one. So basically, maybe you weren’t that cute in that one but you are much cuter in this one. So good luck because everyone is shallow!
