The Official Bra of the No Sleevage Lifestyle

Written by Bryce

I spent the better part of my life being nearly flat-chested. I mean, concave really until my mid 20s, so when my boobs finally appeared in a glorious and much-anticipated way (thanks hormones and pregnancy!), my bra-buying game wasn’t exactly on point. In fact, until recently I was buying bras mostly based on the colors. Oh? That’s a red one, on sale, from a company I like? Sold. Pink flowers with a crystal doodad? I’ll take two. Sigh, you know what that left me with? A lot of ill-fitting boobtastical experiences that looked cute in my lingerie drawer but did little to offer me support, the appearance of a totally fabulous chest, or the ability to combat that dreaded spillage effect. You know the one I’m talking about– where the skin that meets where your boobs end and your armpits start just kinda spills over. Apparently there’s a technical term for that, “sleevage.” Not cute. Definitely not elegant.

Fast forward to today, age 31, and I’m currently living a C-cup lifestyle. I am enjoying this lifestyle to the fullest, but until about a week ago I had no idea that Warner’s No Side Effects bras existed. This means I was living 6 full years with sleevage. Unacceptable.

Personally, the front closure variety has become my fast favorite (and yes, I’m going to show you a totally Snapchat-style photo of me wearing said bra). The straps are convertible (hello racerback tops for summer!), the underwire is super comfy, and the variety of colors is cute enough to match to all the best panties in my pre-existing collection. The brand also has a regular, back-closure style should that suit your fancy (it suits mine sometimes, too), and even a wire-free style.

Considering it’s sleeveless everything season (shirts, dresses, shirtdresses even), sleevage is a real consideration. I’m not saying we need to start a charitable organization to combat it, but we should all do our part to get this sleevage thing under control. I mean, seriously, we can do this… and we’ll be so much happier later in life when we look back at all the weird photos we took for Instagram Summer 2015.

The No Side Effects bras are a totally reasonable $40 each, comfier for summer than dipping your feet in the pool, and available at Kohls, JCPenney, and a ton of other retailers.

Want to win one? Comment below with which color you’d like to try and share this post on Facebook to enter! 5 winners will be chosen by June 30, 2015!

Look, no sleevage!

This post was sponsored but I really do love the Warner’s No Side Effects collection and am wearing it as I write this post.

  • May I just say, I’d die to be a C cup. 36A, and that’s as good as I’m getting! And I am ALL about that animal print variety in the top photo!

  • I would adore one in the butterscotch with white dots – super cute, affordable and comfy – please pick me to try it out!! <3

  • This could not have come at a better time – I was just looking at the
No Side Effects™ Wire Free Contour in JC PEnney. No kidding. I am in desperate need of a new black bra, but $40 is above my price range. As a 51 year old woman whose body changes all the time and under-arm bulge and back fat show way more than it used to as everything shifts – I think I would be the perfect winner to sample this bra and send you before and after Brassiere! pix. Thanks for your consideration. 🙂 will share on fb and twitter!

  • I love anything lacy pink or polka dot!! Now that I’m single need to update my wardrobe!!

  • Hi! Have missed seein your posts! I don’t ever receive email from you any more no matter how many times I try to resign up. So, actually I think my Mom could use trying this. That’s not to say she can’t bra shop but she always finds it difficult to find the right bra and has basically given up all hope. So, to have a kinda summer go with everything color I would choose Nude for her. thnx! E
