Mayor Bloomberg wants to “keep people excited” about safe sex. New York City is officially sponsoring a contest for the city’s official condom wrapper. The current wrapper is marked with subway-esque colored circles.
The City Health Department is challenging the public to come up with the best suggestions for a special limited edition condom wrapper designer. The winner will have the honor of having his/her condom wrapper art on several hundred thousand official condoms. That’s a lot of official city-sponsored boning.
City officials want participants to understand that the artwork submitted can NOT be raunchy or include any copyrighted or trademarked images. Entries are due by January 22, and the winning design will be determined by online voting.
fun fact: Bloomberg’s office gives away more than 40 million free official NYC condoms each year.
