It seems like everyone is getting massive woodies for the woods, these days. Apache-chic was all over fashion week, and lumber-jane looks have inspired my wardrobe and home decor choices for the better part of this year. And with the cooler days and the return of warm pumpkin spice lattes, I’m getting all Ludacris about my cabin-in-the-woods fantasies. Luckily for me, I’m not the only one whose autumn wet dreams involve logs and dry leaves, because there’s now a Tumblr called “Cabin Porn”. For other forest-philes like myself.The blog describes itself as “inspiration for your quiet place somewhere”, but what does cabin porn look like, you ask? Other than the best idea ever, it looks something like this:
Outdoor beds and open-air bathrooms are only the beginning for these cozy shacks. Uh, did I mention this birchwood treehouse/teepee/fort in France? Le Shack? Le swoon.
And then there’s this cabin. Built around an actual tree! Aretheyserious??!
Ooooohhhkay. Now there are tents hanging from trees. With lights that glow like sky diamonds. Yes. Excuse me while I go slip into my Birkenstocks.
Like a true forest-phile, I just spent the last half hour googling things like “cabin fever” “dream cabins upstate ny” and other unmentionables. My search brought up this cabin for rent in Georgia (so far away!), which is situated on a river, looks gorgeous and is wonderfully named “Wet Dreams”. Did someone say “Midnight Train to Georgia?”
