MBFW Backstage at Monika Chiang

Written by Bryce

Monika Chiang’s A/W collection was light and breezy today at the Box at Lincoln Center on a particularly dreary, blizzardy day here in NYC. I popped backstage to watch the brainchildren at Aveeno and Lancome work magic on the models. The hair was big, lightly textured and tall. Think femme rock glam, half pinned back by Patrick Melville himself. The makeup look, created by Tarek Abbas of Lancome, was, “inspired by a sense of mystery.”

Abbas recommends a smoky eye, clean skin, and absolutely no sparkle to get the look. I loved the way he used Le Stylo eyeliner in Noir by Lamcome. For hair, Patrick Melville used Aveeno’s Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo to add texture before pinning and lifting the hair.
