Marijuana Suppositories: High Times for Medicine

Written by andy

Marijuana suppositories are the new PMS drug that everyone’s talking about. No, we’re not kidding. Yes, it will make you want even more chocolate.

The use of marijuana–both medical and recreational–is a hotly debated topic. Marijuana critics say that using the drug can affect health, mental function, and job performance negatively. Marijuana advocates cite numerous benefits of the drug. No matter which side of the debate you find yourself, the trend seems to be moving in a distinctly use-weed-for-as-much-as-possible direction. One new use of marijuana may make you reconsider your stance on the drug–  that’s right: we’re talking about marijuana suppositories!

“Now, wait just one pea-pickin’ minute!” you may be saying. “Why in the heck would I want to put a marijuana suppository anywhere?” I mean, if that’s how you talk.

Well, take a moment to read about what they can do:

Foria RELIEF is a vaginal marijuana suppository infused with a mixture of cannabis, organic cocoa butter, and oil. The suppository is designed to reduce the pain of menstrual symptoms: cramps, bloating, and pain.

Why a suppository? Why not one of the other forms of the drug? Well, it turns out the pelvic region has a surprising number of cannabinoid receptors–more than the rest of your body aside from your brain. So, your vagina can get high while the rest of you is able to show up to work as a regularly functioning human (totally kidding, don’t take that seriously). The topical application of the cannabinoids (via the suppository) means that there will be few negative side effects spread throughout your body. The cannabinoids will simply counteracts the negative symptoms of PMS, but without the whole-body side effects that come with other methods of ingesting cannabinoids (and marijuana).

What makes this solution such an interesting option is that there are no psychoactive compounds in the suppository. Only the cannabinoids are present, and there are no THCs– the part that makes you get “loopy” when you get high. This means that the marijuana suppositories will not affect your behavior, so you can use it at work as well as at home.

Now, why the hell would you consider this? Aren’t there drugs and remedies to help you deal with PMS pain, cramps, and other symptoms? There are, but are they truly effective? You can only take so many painkillers before you start to experience negative side effects. According to the Journal of Pain Research, up to 84% of women suffer from menstrual pain– 43% of them with EVERY period. That’s a lot of pain and suffering! The medication commonly taken during periods (including Midol) will gradually become less and less effective at counteracting the pain that accompany PMS. On the other hand, with the direct application of the CBDs in the marijuana suppositories, the pain-relieving effects should remain consistent even with regular use.

Marijuana suppositories are NOT legal in every state. Most of the U.S. states have approved the use of medical marijuana, but that is primarily for treating health problems like cancer, chronic pain, and glaucoma. While this is a medicinal use of the drug, it does not fall under the “medical marijuana” provisions. However, in the states where recreational marijuana is permitted or the laws for marijuana use are less restrictive, you will soon be able to find these marijuana suppositories to help you deal with period cramps. Given time, if the rest of the country continues to relax the restrictions on marijuana use, they may become more and more available.

Do the marijuana suppositories actually work? Aside from the reviews and testimonials posted on the Foria website, there are no third-party reviews to let us know for sure that it does what it claims to.

Enough about us, ask your dealer what he thinks.
