Mariel Clayton’s ABCDerium Collection is Literally Killer

Written by Steph

Mariel Clayton’s evocative photography puts a murderous slant on little girl BFF, Barbie. The blurb that accompanies the ABCDerium photo essay reads, “Children aren’t challenged enough. Give them harder words to spell.” As a kid who grew up on the morbid and dark Gashleycrumb Tinies Alphabet (courtesy of Edward Gorey), I have major love for anyone who treats the alphabet like it’s deserving of an artistic, moody treatment. Take a look for yourself:

‘A is for Apolexy’

‘F is for Fellation’

‘H is for Haematolagnia’

Check out Mariel’s website for the entire alphabet.
