Winter Beauty Must-Haves

Written by Ashley

Per my investigation in to the virtual death of my skin’s moisture & glow during the winter time Kayla Fioravanti brought us some tips on how to cleanse, tone, moisturize, exfoliate & incorporate body oils in the shower in to our winter routine.  After testing out some of these products, I was certain that my skin would survive… and thanks to Kayla & some killer products, I’m back, and glowing like never before ( lets hope this sticks through the holiday parties in to the new year?! )

WINTERSKIN

1.) Cleanse:

Kayla mentioned cleansing milk as one of her go to products for winter skin , keeping soaps & gels at bay.  Amala‘s rejuvenating cocoa bean cleansing milk is keeping my combo skin totally smooth & clean, without leaving a gross residue. Ingredients like the cocoa bean, brazil nut & andiroba bean help to stimulate circulation, restore elasticity, block out free-radicals, and of course, hydrate.

2.) Tone:

Setting astringents aside and bringing toners to the counter helps to prevent any futher drying of the skin, says Kayla. Renée Rouleau’s Toners are all alcohol free, environmentally friendly & keep the moisture balance in skin intact. Swipe one like Moisture Infusion on with Rouleau’s own fuzz-free Toning cloths. They use a soft blend of fibers to absorb 50% less, while feeling extremely soft and gentle on the skin.

3.) Moisturize:

Heavier crémes substitute thinner lotions for winter time. Kayla even suggests using your eye cream for troublesome lip areas! Elizabeth Grant’s collagen line helps to rejuvenate, while their superior exclusive moisturizing compound Torricelumnâ„¢, is infused to keep moisture lasting through the whole day!  And we can’t forget the SPF ( yes. even in the winter.)  Sensai’s créme has SPF 8 built right in. Makeup artists are known to use this stuff before red carpet events- it has a slight shimmer that works to make stars glow on camera!

4.) Exfoliate:

Twice weekly exfoliation will help dry skin caused by the whipping winds & dropping temps from building up. This exfoliator is tough enough with a pleasant scent. Wait until the end of the shower to exfoliate to ease irritation & get the best results!

5.) Incorporate Body Oil:

Kayla says to apply your body oil or lotion immediately after the shower to keep your moisture locked in. The warm water will help the moisturizer seep in and stay there.
