Sunday Funday

Written by Maura

Yesterday was a beautiful day in NYC, and I decided to spend it at the beach. It was the perfect Sunday Funday–radio going, cooler full of cold beachy drinks like Twisted Teas and Bud Light Limes, chips and dip, sun, sand and good company..I couldn’t have asked for more. In anticipation for my fab beach day I did some shopping to make sure I was fully prepared to enjoy my Sunday. First of all, little miss Irish skin needed to get some sunscreen and since I’ve been trying to take better care of my skin lately I decided to get 2 separate lotions, one for my face and one for the rest of my bod. I ended up going with Coola. I love this stuff because it is organic(made with certified organic ingredients , has vitamins A,D and E, and is moisturizing but not greasy like most sunscreens are. Some added bonuses–they have different scents (I chose the unscented for my face and the Plumeria for the body) and a portion of the proceeds are donated to cancer research, it’s always good to know that some companies have at least some kind of social conscience.

I also invested in some new flippy floppies for this weekend. I normally stick with my Havaianas or Reefs but this time I decided to go a little different. I got some new brown Flojos, simple basic flip flops with some design to add a little flair.  They are my new go to for a good pair of sandals to wear at the beach and then also to dinner or drinks at a casual place after a long day on the beach.
