For Mary-Kate:

Mary-Kate’s Hair Inspiration: At this year’s Met Gala, Mary-Kate chose a gorgeous vintage Ferre dress that deserved a classic, yet modern look.

Mary-Kate’s Pre-Treatment for the Met Gala: Mary-Kate is actually getting a conditioning treatment while she walks the red carpet! In fact, for her slicked back look, Mark mixed unrefined coconut oil with 20 drops of in a bowl and applied it to Mary-Kate’s hair from root to tip. The coconut oil is so moisturizing while the Dove dry oil is loaded with African Macadamia Oil which penetrates into the hair helping to the nourish the hair from everyday damages such as heat styling.

Mark’s Quick & Easy Step-by-Step Style: After applying the treatment, Mark took her nourished hair and pulled it into a low bun, securing with few bobby pins throughout the bun.

Fun Hair Fact: Mary-Kate usually makes Mark only use 5 hairpins or less, but for the Met Gala she let him use 10!

 For Ashley:

Ashley’s Hair Inspiration: Can there possibly be anything more inspiring than Ashley Olsen in vintage Chanel? I didn’t think so either so I wanted her hair to be pure Ashley for the Met Gala; sleek, shiny, and effortlessly chic!

Mark’s Quick & Easy Step-by-Step Style:

1.      Mark started as he always does, by adding a few drops of  to her damp tresses and blow-drying with a round brush. This Dove Pure Care Dry Oil makes the hair so soft and silky without ever looking or feeling greasy.

2.      Next, Mark gathered her hair into a low ponytail and secured with an elastic.

3.      To ensure the a sleek ponytail look, Mark sprayed hairspray on a reusable mascara wand and ran it through the hair on the hairline and above the ears

4.      To complete the look and add some extra shine, Mark sprayed Sally Hershberger Salon Smooth Fix on her hair and through the ponytail.

Fun Hair Fact:  To add some contrast to her perfect blonde hair, I tied a velvet ribbon around the base of the ponytail (Ashley’s idea!).

Fresh Scent: Ashley wore a scent from her Elizabeth and James Fragrance White Nirvana and Black Nirvana from Sephora.
