As a Jew, I’m not sure if this canned beverage is flattering (because the juice of a Jew’s ear is just so damn delicious), or offensive?
Either way, I’m probably going to buy a case to keep around for the holidays. I wonder if it’s kosher for passover?

A Jew’s Ear is a type of mushroom. It is also known as a Judas’ Ear because Judas supposedly hanged himself from an elder tree, which is where that particular fungus grows. It is also shaped like an ear.
If no-one has noticed, a Jew’s Ear is a kind of mushroom that grows on old bits of tree.
It isn’t flattering or offensive; it’s what it says it is.

The Chinese name for the mushroom (and it’s a Chinese product) is simply “black tree ear”. I’ve never heard of it as “Jew’s ear” before.
Ever consider that it’s just an example of Engrish? Jew’s Ear Juice is phoenetically not far from Juicier Juice, which would make more sense the way they use it…
