Fashion Week Spotting: FNO Predictions & Social Media Hotspots

Written by emilyc

Tonight’s the big night! Fashion’s Night Out should be bigger and and more star-studded (is it just me, or is Solange Knowles showing up everywhere tonight?) than ever before. Here in The Luxury Spot offices, we look even more chic than we usually do,  i.e. we’re all wearing black, because we are so excited for the festivities to ensue. Here are my predictions for tonight’s line-up:

I predict that red heads will be trending and tolerance for frizzy hair will increase after Grace Coddington reveals her collaboration line with Balenciaga’s Nicolas Ghesquière, entitled “Pumpkin”.

I predict that there will be several drunken parents, as well as children being put up for adoption after Carolina Herrera’s “kid-friendly” Baby Buggy event with Jessica Seinfeld. Put cocktails and face painting together, and you’re in for a real treat.

I predict the dessert buffet that David Yurman is hosting tonight will remain untouched. Sorry David, but a dessert feast at Fashion’s Night Out = futile effort.

I predict that Beyonce will make Fashion Week baby bumps a tradition when she goes to frolic around Saks with Oscar de la Renta.

I predict that Michael Kors may have a new day job after he tries his hand at judging Kors Karaoke, and that, thanks to her mother’s debut line Holmes & Yang, Suri Cruise will become what she is no doubt destined to be – a runway model.

If social media is more your scene, there will be plenty to enable your Twitter addiction and beyond. One of the tech hotspots will be Bergdorf’s, where you’ll be able to get style tips from designers that just happen to be on-hand, snap pictures of your styled self, and turn those pics into GIFs that will stream on the store’s Tumblr. Get your Instagram on at BCBG (you know you were already doing it anyways), and be automatically entered to win a $1000 BCBG shopping spree! Also, Hugo Boss will be putting on an LED show all night. Yeah, I know, it’s no social media, but it sounds pretty fun if you ask me.

Let the caffeine, cocktails, and sartorial cavorting commence!
