Eco-friendly Bubbly

Written by Corinne

Practice eco-conscious champagne drinking using classy champagne flutes.

With my 21st fast approaching, I’ve been discussing with friends the best way to celebrate while maintaining most of my dignity and without landing myself in a hospital bed (or a jail cell). I knew I found the solution to all of these potential predicaments when I came across Pommery POP Earth – a new ec0-friendly champagne! Pommery has always been dedicated to creating superb Champagne while still using sustainable practices. Their POP Earth Champagne is the ultimate symbol of their sustainable development efforts over the past 10 years! So who cares if I lose my phone, wallet, and self respect on the eve of my birthday after drinking POP Earth Champagne? No one should, not even me (and I’m very attached to my blackberry), because by me drinking POP Earth, I am still helping better our environment. Seriously – to be kinder to Mother Nature, the new POP Earth bottle uses lighter glass (1.85lbs) than conventional champagne bottles (2lbs), which in turn reduces pollution and energy costs during shipping.  Also, the bottle features a label made from some recycled materials and is printed with water soluble inks. No matter how bad the hangover after drinking POP Earth, think about what you did for the environment and your headache should be a little more bearable.

So now I at least knew my drink of choice for my birthday plans, I still needed to find the perfect glass to be able to serve my guests some POP Earth Champagne too! Crate & Barrel had THE perfect champagne flutes ($2.95). These Simplicity Flutes are very classy looking, even if my 21st doesn’t result in pure class, everyone will start the night out at least looking it drinking from these flutes!

I am proud to say I will turn 21 with class and an eco-conscious dignity.
