Brush Up On Your Please and Thank You’s

Written by Maura

Of course our mommas always tried to teach us to be polite, but for some people out there apparently it didn’t sink in. From my time in the south, I’ve noticed that it is a different level of polite there..always “yes, sir” and “no, ma’am”. Granted, I don’t expect everyone everywhere to speak that way, but maybe we lose out a little from a lack of that respect. Perhaps we could use a nice dose of etiquette. I can hear the sighs from here..but come on now, you know that we wouldn’t leave you with a boring topic..of course we’ve got to spice it up for TheLuxurySpot. So I did some research and there are some classy, but still fun, young and trendy ways to follow proper etiquette.

First thing is first, let’s start with the basics..please and thank you. The cardinal rule of polite actions. What ever happened to thank you notes? And written invitations? Personal stationary? Now, don’t get me wrong..I am clearly an internet person, I blog all day long..but there is just something nice and really special about a hand-written note. It seems like the only time you get a thank you note is after a wedding or baby shower. From being the Corresponding Secretary for a large sorority in the heart of the south, I know a thing or two about stationary and thank you notes, and the best ones around come from Crane & Co. This is a great company because it has a huge variety of products (from thank you notes and personal stationary to business cards and invitations) in a wide array of really fun but still professional colors, designs and paper. A few of my favorites that I highly recommend are:

Letterpress Giraffe Thank You Notes

Letterpress Giraffe Thank You Notes. $19.00 for a set of 10

This set of Thank Yous is really great because it is sophisticated and chic but the animal print still keeps it fun, young and stylish.

Pink and green bordered kate spade correspondence cards. $464.00 for a set of 50

Kate Spade has always been super colorful and stylish but still very sophisticated. Her line of paper with Crane & Co. is no exception. I love these little cards because they are super versatile and are great for just about any type of communication.

Nothing screams classy like monograms. Nothing screams summer fun like bright colors. Welcome to classy summer fun: LA Plates. These are my new favorite things! They are the epitome of young, prepster classy. There’s tons of different ways you can put your personal touch on your plates, different forms of monogramming, colors and designs. Here are some of the ones the lovely people at LA Plates created for me.

Of course presenting yourself with class is more of an attitude, it is an air about you that demands respect from those you encounter. However, with the help of products like these your style can be expressed with class and you can stay young and fashionable without being stuffy and stiff.
