Guest Room Goodies

Written by RachelR

Everyone knows that once you move to Manhattan you become an involuntary bed and breakfast. Old pals from high school, distant relatives, and friends of a friend suddenly feel the urge to visit and “catch up,” while crashing on your couch. So in the city where guest rooms are basically an urban legend,  why not indulge your guests/new best friends in a more Manhattan way of hospitality… swag.

{1} Perfumes can be heavy, leak-and-spill-able, & not exactly travel friendly. So include mini versions by Lucy B. and crazylibellule, with fabulously portable and unique scents that will wow your guests. Lucy B. offers roller ball version of their seductive and delicious Pink Frangipani perfume oil ($24USD), a thick syrupy, flower trimmed scent for sultry nights (and maybe it will even lead your friend to a new pad to crash?)

Crazylibellule’s Crazy Sticks ($18USD) – that look like a chic little glue sticks – are sweet and solid (literally) pick-me-up’s in a variety of adult versions of yummy childhood smells. My favorite Crazy Stick (and my favorite cookie) – vanilla macaron – light and airly like the delicate French delight, smoked with the smooth scents almond and amber.

{2} Keep the kids out of your precious stash of haircare by offering up luxe tubes from Lollia. Just choose between Mint Julep Clover Blossom and Grenadine & Tonic Clover Blossom (approx $7USD) and let your guests relish in bouncy, beautiful hair.

{3} One of my personal favorites from Arcona – the West Coast spa pioneer – the Toner Tea Bar ($38USD) is an amazing morning surprise. A smoothing and soothing facial cleanser with a sweet tea afterscent has been snatched up from under my nose by many of my so-call-friends, and even my own mother. The bar’s oxygenating and inflammation soothing powers are a treat for the airborne and it even comes packed in it’s own sleek little tub so they can take it to go.
