Gold Room Gives Atlanta a Little Glitter

More than a thousand people descended upon the newly opened Gold Room in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, December 3 to celebrate the official opening of the new nightclub and lounge. The latest addition to Buckhead’s upscale nightlife offerings, the Gold Room is housed in the former Gold Club – the infamous gentlemen’s club that was shut down by the Feds almost a decade ago. With no remnants of its past, the multi-level nightlife destination features a sleek, modern design and has two distinct environments: a high-energy club and an intimate upstairs lounge that has floating DJ booth, glass VIP room and dedicated champagne bar.   Guests guzzled hard liquor, specialty cocktails, and champagne… because frankly, you know how they do in the ATL.

Gravity defying aerialists performed high above the crowd as belly dancers adorned with giant gold wings from tantalized partygoers including Dallas Austin, Faizon Love, Jermaine Dupri and Janelle Monet. A troop of dancers in gold tutus slowly worked their way through the crowd throughout the night; never breaking character and performing in a stop-motion fashion.  The dancers even dared to climb the glass that houses the horseshoe shaped second floor lounge. A gorgeous fire-eating duo also shocked partygoers throughout the opening bash and by the end of the evening were an obvious favorite.
