Fini-to!

Written by Aliza

One too many of us are familiar with the Starbucks Venti cup-dry cleaning-garment bag-cell phone-dog leash-grocery store purchases-handbag juggle. You’re one step away from your apartment but a half step away from collapsing. Before your dog ends up with another latté on his head and your dry cleaning flutters into a puddle, call Fini Concierge.

Fini was founded in 2004 by a married couple, Edward and Chantal Boxer, who understand how important that extra hour in the day could be. Imagine being able to take your time getting home after work, instead of running to the laundry because you have no underwear left. Don’t tell me you enjoy running your errands on Saturdays either, because I won’t believe you. Some of the errand services they provide are (try not to cringe): Dry cleaning, notarizing, mailings, picking up prescriptions, scheduling appointments, securing reservations, car servicing, appointments with party planners, and home repair. However, they claim that they’ll complete any errand for you that isn’t on the list (although you might have to double check their policy on anything illegal or involving nudity but hey- who knows!).

Remember the time your cable company told you they’d be at your apartment between 12 and 4, and didn’t show up until 8 pm? Fini will gladly wait in your place, preventing the screaming of inappropriate words that might result after a four hour delay.  In addition, they’ll handle all the travel arrangements for that fabulous trip to Bali AND watch your house while you’re gone. They also claim complete confidentiality, which means you won’t have to hide your porn collection before they arrive.

At a rate of $47 per hour, with a one hour minimum, Fini isn’t for those who just can’t get off the couch. If you’re watching your wallet, try internet-researcher.com for a library of virtual assistant services for less. But, if you’ve found your stress levels higher than normal even after the workday has ended, their small, friendly army of doers can help. Go to FiniConcierge.com to start feeling sane again.

Aliza

a born and bred Manhattan-ite who graduated Lehigh University in 2007 with a degree in Journalism. She currently lives with her two patient roommates and works for Valentino Fashion Group where she handles a lot of garment bags, answers a lot of phones, and does a lot of what anyone tells her to (most eagerly in PR and Marketing). She favors brunch over lunch, heels over flats, tequila over vodka, downtown over uptown, and a tropical destination over pretty much anything else in the world.
