Fashion Week Taught Me This: Bold Lashes and Fierce Lips

Written by Bryce

It happens every year, twice a year. There’s a day when Fashion Week finally ends and life sort of drifts back to a less stylish version of normal. The good news is that when the fashionable dust settles, the focus turns to what the hottest beauty trends to come out of the week were. This year I noticed a few fabulous ones. It seems even if the clothes are less sparkly and more subdued, the glam factor is being turned up more than a notch or two with intense lashes, clean skin, and luscious lips. The runways were dotted with gals rocking different lip shades- everything from nude to deep wine shades, but one thing remained constant: bold, long lashes (and honestly, who doesn’t love this trend?!).

Getting the look at home is super simple. Here’s the breakdown:

1. Start with clean, clear skin. Try a mix of your fave foundation with a little lotion, or a highlighting base. Steer clear of bronzers and sparkly stuff.
2. Line eyes with a shade you can easily smoke out in a subtle way. Ideas include deep plum, hunter green, or charcoal.
3. MASCARA, MASCARA, MORE MASCARA. Lashes are everything for this look , and there’s no easier way to get it than with a mascara that already offers better brush technology. I’m loving COVERGIRL’s Clump Crusher Mascara by LashBlast because it features a curved brush that builds 200% more volume without clumps (even after 30 strokes), and fits to the curve of the eye root to tip. More volume = more volume. You’ll get your lashes to look like Texas hair for your eyeballs, without gross clumpage.

4. Finish with a long-lasting matte lip color in the red family. Classic glam is the name of this game!
