Fashion Week Pre-Game Looks Like This

Written by Bryce

Fashion Week is a nonstop flurry of chaos and mimosas (and apparently Fashion Week Kids that look super somber), so how does a gorgeous gal pre-game properly? With the proper fuel (read: caffeine), and pre-fashion beauty routines.

Start with your hygiene routine. It’s the most essential, the rest you can figure out in a cab on the way up to Lincoln Center or at one of the 80,000 lounges that have appeared this year. In fact, there are so many lounges for non-fashion related things (like I’m pretty sure there’s a lounge for automotive tires, toothpaste, and chia seeds this year), you’ll be able to get all your life errands done as well. Anyway, back to beauty:

1. Get a new kind of clean. I’m OBSESSED with emmi-dent’s toothbrush. It’s unlike any other brush I’ve tried before- you don’t actually “brush” your teeth, you simply hold the brush head in place over 2-3 teeth at a time and it goes to work FOR YOU cleaning, whitening, and sanitizing your whole oral situation. It uses ultrasonic technology to kick the ass of anything that might threaten your smile’s pearly white status, and frankly, it flatters my lazy girl routine. It sounds counter-intuitive after years of warped dental training, but after the first use you can easily see and feel the difference. Available here.

2. Keep smiling! Go even whiter and brighter than nature prescribed for you. You know how I feel about the Pearl whitening system. It takes home whitening to the next level, and since lip color is going more neutral this season, smiles will have a tendency to look a little lackluster without some additional whitening action. Available here.

3. Shower and smooth. Smooth legs = getting in the last few bits of summery weather. Skintimate is easy, peasy, hydrating and available just about everywhere.

4. But seriously, you need to moisturize EVERYWHERE. I love Nivea’s Extended Moisture lotion. It really lasts, has hardly any scent (so it won’t interfere with your Tom Ford action), and is perfect post-shower for legs, arms, and basically everything below the face. Did I mention you’ll be smooth for up to 2 days in the event you, um, sleep out after a long party?

5. Keep it clean (and fresh). Swipe on some Secret before heading out. It’s my fave, lasts seemingly forever, and is the only antiperspirant that actually gets the job done. I keep one in my bathroom vanity and one in my purse (you never know). Available everywhere, thank heavens.

In the event you have a few more minutes before heading out the door to your first 9AM show, brew yourself a single-serving espresso. You’ll be chic (and awake) before even leaving your apartment. The Nescafe Dolce Gusto machines brew like a charm, look like elegant European robots on your counter, and save you countless wasted coffee shop dollars.

  • I’m more than agree with your addiction for Emmi-dent. I’ve forget mine for the holidays and have had the bad feeling of dirty mouth during 3 weeks ! For the whitening I’m using a new brand beconfiDent; it’s products without Peroxide… And for the espresso I’m addict to my Nespresso; I can’t wake up on the morning without it… I’m gonna try the Secret as it seem to be really efficient too… Thanks for this 😉
