Drab Hair to Fab Hair

Written by Corinne

On Thursday I was able to experience a new color, cut, and Kerastase treatment thanks to Butterfly Studio Salon right here in NYC! When I stepped into the salon, I was sporting roots down to my ankles and uneven blonde highlights with a touch of split ends (Do I know how to paint a sexual picture of myself or what?). First, Tammy, the colorist, asked me what I had in mind. After trying to deal with the upkeep of highlights in my super fast growing hair for the past few months, I opted for something more low maintenance but still not boring. Tammy suggested a rich warm brown. She used L’Oreal Luocolor – a hair dye that offers natural-looking, multi-dimensional, permanent color. Tammy explained that because I already had highlights in my hair, the Luocolor product would allow these to shine through which would give my hair a more natural look immediately instead of appearing weeks later. I also received a Kerastase spray treatment, which makes hair shiny and soft. Tammy even informed me my new hair’s incredible shine would last up to 6 shampoos! Once my color was done, hair stylist Vanessa took over to give my hair more shape. She gave me side swept bangs, and angles and layers to add definition to my new brunette locks. Because I am blow-dryer challenged, Vanessa even took the time to show me how to blow out my new side bangs, which only takes two minutes! You can imagine how ecstatic I was knowing I could find the time to tame my bangs in the morning instead of opting to slick them back and end up looking like Rico Suave. I was extremely happy with my new fabulous hair when leaving Butterfly Studio Salon. One of the other stylists even mentioned how my eyes popped from the new color and another said how she didn’t even recognize me as the same girl that walked in!
