Chic Vegetarian Summer Essentials

Written by Ashley

Eh, Vegetarian or not, these are to be appreciated.

While engaging in tons of summer-time eating, and even more summertime drinking, I’ve become enthralled with the idea that my whole day can be veggie friendly, straight down to my beauty, and my hangover cure.  Here are my picks for how to stay true to being a healthy vegetarian this summer.

Lipgloss is essential. Nothing comes first. So in the spirit of staying on the veggie trail, Peacekeeper’s Yum  line has been more often than not the only addition to my clutch, beach bag in the form of their Yum Glaze and Yum Balm. Adorable, and well versed in flavor (these aren’t for the faint of taste… I’m talkin’ straight organic Blueberry Chocolate, Citrus, Rose-Oil,  flavors, to name a few. All comprised with nourishing vegan superfruit ingredients like organic shea butter, gluten-free Vitamin E, red beet and cabbage juice, goji berry, pomegranate, and sea buckthorn. And if you thought you were smitten, just you wait… ingredients from remote farmers in India, and local growers right here in the US compile this line to benefit Human Rights organizations while all being USDA Organic. Thoughtful AND tasty, these treats are even said to be pure enough to spread on your toast… but I haven’t become ballsy or drunk enough to get in on that sort of action.  Which brings me to my next batch of essential summer sidekicks.

Jellowares cups from the designers at TheWayWeSeeIt.com is the perfect eco-friendly and vegetarian (I guess most cups are vegetarian…but stay with me here) vessel in which to house your light and sparkly summer beverage. We’re digging these from acai infused cocktails from Veev.  Yup, a cup made of Jell-o. Infused with agar agar (and flavors like lemon-basil, ginger-mint, or rosemary-beet) these cups are meant to be thrown in to the grass… as agar agar, being derived from algae, will nourish and encourage the growth of plants.

Accompanied with a Boca Burger & some fresh spring salad, I’m all ready for a day of fun in the sun… secretly hoping my hangover the next morning forgets to show up thanks to my newly adopted multi-vitamin regimen specially formulated for those who drink alcohol. ME.

Drinkwel is a daily multi-vitamin that, with time, helps to prevent hangovers, replenish nutrients, and support against the long-term negative effects of drinking.  Coming in a bottle of 90 vegetarian capsules (for about a month’s worth if you’re a light drinker), ingredients include milk thistle to support liver health, amino acids to help process alcohol induced toxins, superfruits rich in antioxidants to neutralize free-radicals, vitamin B-complex to aid metabolism and maintain energy, and vitamin C to help support the immune system WITHOUT any dairy, fish, gluten, milk, peanuts, shellfish, tree nuts, wheat, yeast or artificial color or flavor.

With these, you will now become the ultimate oxymoron. A healthy drinker.
