Chic and Cheap DIY Refrigerator Magnets

Finding chic refrigerator magnets for your kitchen decor is pretty easy in this day and age. Finding chic, inexpensive refrigerator magnets is a little more of a task. The solution, you ask? DIY!

DIY fridge magnets

You want your kitchen to be well-designed, but refrigerator magnets are historically some of the most chintzy, unattractive decorative items in existence. Especially if you have kids, designing your interior is a clever balance between form and function (as I always say).

We did a post a while back on turning your children’s animal toys into shelf decor, and we liked the idea so much that we decided to revisit the idea with magnets.

All you have to do is get some of those plastic animal toys from your local toystore and cut them in half. Spray paint them in either metallic or matte colors (I am partial to gold) and hot glue them to magnets. If you have kids 8 and up and feel comfortable around a hot glue gun, it might even make a great activity to do with your kids!
