I don’t really talk much about Cuba since they basically hate our guts, but just for your FYI, they have nightclubs in caves.
Disco Ayala, located in Trinidad, Cuba is a nightclub located in a huge natural cave that was once home to a serial killer. You enter the club through the tiny cave mouth at the end of a dusty old street, and walk down a bunch of stairs to the main cavern, complete with five dance floors, three bars, and enough stalagtites to make you really nervous about getting impaled (and not in the good way). The club also features crazy performers like snake charmers, glass-eaters, acrobats, and fire-walkers.
The cave is named after a famous serial killer named Carlos Ayala, who abducted children, took them to the cave, and killed them. His existence has become something of a local legend, but there is actual proof that he both lived, and murdered there.
So if you ever find yourself in Cuba (not likely, if you’re American) check out Disco Ayala. If you don’t get murdered by a falling stalagtite, you might encounter the ghost of a legendary serial killer. Either way, it will definitely be a night to remember.
