Bryce Gruber’s Thoughts of the Day (birthday fiesta edition)

Written by Bryce

Just a casual night of singing in bars…

Be as you wish to seem. -Socrates

1. Wine. Ah, vino. I always seem to forget that it only takes me one glass to feel a little silly, and tonight’s wine bar fiesta in celebration of JoAnne’s birthday erupted into singing show tunes in a crowded, trendy place with luxurious cashmere scarves wrapped about our heads in a fashion that made them seem much less chic and much more Ellis Island.

2. Speaking of friends… I’m just a few hours away from a big, raunchtastic photo shoot with my friend Ariston, an editor at a pretty giant luxury news source. We’re going to be photographed by Gary, obviously, who was nice enough to try on several of the wardrobe options provided by American Apparel. You see, the theme for the shoot is sort of sexy workout things in crazy, kinky heels. So, we’ll be shooting at a pilates studio whilst wearing 5″ stilettos, shimmering spandex, and simply no underwear. I expect it to be divine. Here’s Gary helping with wardrobe:

3. Yes, I really live here… the photo you’re seeing above is really my house. That’s a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs, some wild 80’s paintings by Leal on the walls, and insane amounts of wood paneling everywhere. And obviously Ashley left her giant exercise ball in my dining room. No big deal… and yeah, that kooky fruitcake is as much a fixture around here as my refrigerator.

4. You know what I can’t wait to try? Beautisol has a new self tanner just for the face. I tried a smidge the other day on my arm just to see how it works, and it looks pretty fab. Non-orange, non-messy, super-easy. I’m going to try some out on Thursday and take pics, so stay tuned!
