The Baby Sloth Institute

There’s a real baby sloth institute. It’s in Costa Rica and focuses on rehabilitating baby sloths, because the world isn’t so bad.

There are few things in this world that are as adorable as a baby sloth. Off the top of my head, I can’t even think of one right now, so it should come as no surprise to you that there is an institute in Costa Rica that finds abandoned baby sloths and rehabilitates them to be released into the wild.

The Sloth Institute of Costa Rica, founded by Sam Trull, is dedicated to researching sloths, collaborating with other institutes to save sloths, and educating the public about the peaceful creatures. The goal of the institute is to find abandoned baby sloths and release them back into the wild slowly, so they can get used to jungle life, and avoid being eaten by a carnivore or flattened by a car.

I stand wholeheartedly behind this sloth initiative. Sloths are the kind of animals who mind their own business and don’t really mess with anyone. If any species of animal needs a little helping hand, it’s the sloth population. Also, if anyone is giving away a secret black market NYC sloth, feel free to reach out. Want.
