Art Spotting: Tom Sachs – Yes it’s Chanel

Written by Casey

Tom Sachs is a sculptor known best for his elaborate recreations of various Modern icons, all of them masterpieces of engineering and design of one kind or another. His unique spin on art is emphasized by taking these less than precious objects, (A guillotine, a chain saw, a toilet, and a McDonalds meal) and slapping CHANEL, Prada, and Hermes labels on them makes them much more endearing and chic.

Would YOU literally go head first into a Chanel guillotine? Pee in a Prada toilet? Eat Hermes McDonalds? Let us know. We’ll be waiting.
