Art Spotting: Combining irrelevant objects

Written by Gary

The thing I find most interesting about this art created by Jennifer Collier is that it was created both through and with objects more irrelevant than Lindsay Lohan’s career. The items depicted are a rotary phone (replaced with cell phones), vintage typewriter (computer), charming 35 mm camera (digital cameras), teacup (plastic bottles) and sewing machine (replaced by Taiwanese children). They are created entirely out of paper which has been replaced with digital communication.

Overall the collection is a nod to recent antiquity- items we all fondly remember using but would scoff at if forced to function with today.
