Accessories Spotting: Skeleton Slippers

Written by Casey

Hugh Hefner can just go eat a baguette, because these are the coolest slippers ever!

I mean really, are these not the most kick ass slipper around? I admit, I am the farthest thing from a slippers girl (I don’t even own Uggs) but I would totally wear these around the city with a great pair of jeans or leather pants. These flats from Mara&Mine are made in Los Angeles, sourcing materials from Europe and gather inspiration all over the world. As a teaser for their debut Spring/Summer 2013 collection, they have pre-released their most coveted Jem Skull Slipper available at B_Space for $350.

For their debut collection they found inspiration a recent trip to Cabo San Lucas, falling in love with many items related to the the vibrant culture of Mexico.  From the local textiles & fabrics used in traditional Mexican blankets to the re-occurring skeleton themes seeped in 3,000+ years of history celebrating the deaths of their ancestors, Mexico was ripe with inspiration.
