8Tracks Spotting: Rainy Day Mix

Some jams to get you through the rainy day.

8Tracks allows users to create and share playlists. Each week I’ll spotlight my favorites. This week: Rainy Day by bleachers89.

Rainy days blow, but they do inspire some great tunes. Here are some of my favorites from this Rainy Day mix.

No Rain by Blind Melon: This is everyone’s favorite anti-rain song: sunny, cheerful, and worthy of an impromptu dance party, bumblebee girl style.

Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson: If this song doesn’t make you want to hide beneath a comforter for hours, you need to be taken out back and put out of your misery.

Lie in Our Graves by Dave Matthews Band: Even though my DMB fangirl days are long gone, this song does make me long for a good puddle-jump.

Raincoat Song by The Decemberists: Colin Meloy’s chords give me an insane amount of comfort. This song makes you want to strip off your wet clothes and crawl in bed with your ex. Which means I should probably stop listening to it.

Feel Like Rain by Motion City Soundtrack: Motion City Soundtrack is another undergraduate relic for me, but this upbeat rainy day anthem is vaguely reminiscent of the Gin Blossoms, so I’m down.
