4 Life Lessons We Can All Learn From Honey Boo Boo Child

Written by Elizabeth Mitchell

A dolla makes me holla, honey boo boo!

If you haven’t caught an episode of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” yet, you’re seriously missing out on some very important life lessons. Alana may only be seven, but with her extensive pageant experience and with a mentor like June for a mom, you can bet this Honey Boo Boo Child is wise beyond her years. Here are just a few things we can learn from the redneck reality star:

1. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty.

She may not win a crown every time, but little Alana definitely isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. Naturally, one of Honey Boo Boo Child’s favorite pastimes is going mud bogging. She’s even been quoted as saying, “I likes to get in the mud because I like to get dirty like a pig.” And hey, who can argue with that one?

2. Being gay is not a choice, it’s a blessing.

Just take a look at Glitzy. Before Sugar Bear had to go and ship him back to the pig farm, him and Alana were living the good life: entering pageants together, playing dress up and generally just being besties.

3. Honesty is the best policy.

Whether it’s declaring her own fabulousness or keeping it real about mama June’s weight, you can always count on Honey Boo Boo to tell it like it is:

“Those others girls must be crazy if they think they’re gonna beat me, honey boo boo child!”

4. Size doesn’t matter.

Speaking of weight, Honey Boo Boo knows that you can’t let a little something like a few extra chicken nuggets hold you down. “Mama says that pretty comes in all different sizes. My size is cute.” We think so too Honey Boo Boo Child!
