One of NYC’s top nutritionists gives us tips to making your drinking routine healthier, using 3 TLS approved gadgets.

Summer sun is calling your name. But if you’re struck with BIKINI FEAR, that frolic may have turned in to a slow, waddled, waist-line expanded bop caused by the energy drinks, sugary summer cocktails and coffees you’re drinking to quench your thirst. We talked to NYC nutritionist, rebel & food lover Dana James to get killer tips for how to get over your bikini fear and take BACK your summer of love with healthier, at-home options you can use to entertain, or take on-the-go using these TheLuxurySpot.com approved kitchen gadgets.

SodaStream [$79.95 – $199.95]: we’ve seen these at-home sparkling water making widgets all over the infomercial waves, but I’ve tried their FIZZ contraption and love the eff out of it. A more tastier approach to my water intake was welcomed, and the FIZZ soda maker, which has a Fizz Chip that indicates the carbonation level in your drink and lets you know when you’re carbonator is running low. James suggests using the seltzer as a less caloric champagne substitute on Sunday Funday. ” Simply add a dash of white cranberry juice, fresh mint and pour into a champagne glass.  You can enjoy a festive brunch without having to top-up on the previous night’s imbibing.

Black & Decker Vegetable & Fruit Juice Extractor [$29.99]: James recommends to skip the fruit juices and go for an uber hip green juice (think the ‘raw’ diet, but way, way better).  “It gives you an injection of phytonutrients, enzymes, oxygen and balances your pH.  This means creamy peach skin, extra vitality and a leaner more luscious body.  Ultimate green juice – cucumber, spinach, celery, romaine, cilantro and snow pea shoots.  Add an apple if you need some sweetness.

ZeroWater filter [$35 – $39.99]:  Keep one at home and one in the office to quench your thirst with cool water, sans the contaminants. It’s no secret that the more water you drink, the better you’ll feel AND the better you’ll look, giving you energy enough to skip the morning cup of joe. But if you MUST drink coffee, James suggests to use filtered water like they do at the coffee shop, to make your coffee taste barista made & less likely to bloat.
