New ‘Girlz’ On the Block

Okay, really?

So last week, the bomb dropped that Ty, the company that brought us the unfathomably obscene Beanie Baby craze of the 90′s, had outdone themselves once again. Two dolls have been fashioned in the likeness of 7-year-old Sasha and 10-year-old Malia, the two unquestionably cute children of President Obama. The toy giants released the two 12-inch dolls as part of their TyGirlz collection.

Michelle called the dolls inappropriate (though I’m sure she’d agree, not as inappropriate as the Caylee doll). But Ty is all like, um, no way, there is absolutely no resemblance between the two. It’s just that Marvelous Malia and Sweet Sasha are African-American and have the same names as the first daughters. And one of those names happens to be Malia, which no one has ever even heard of before. SOUNDS JUST LIKE THE REAL OBAMA CHILDREN! But seriously, it’s just a coincidence.

Ty claims they used the names Sasha and Malia because they’re beautiful names. Just like Paris, Lindsay, Britney, Hillary, and Jenna; the rest of the TyGirlz crew. No joke. At least the Obama girls are in good company.

Personally, I’d rather purchase one of the other dolls. Marvelous Malia and Sweet Sasha may have cute outfits and a nice tan, but I heard the Paris doll comes with a flask.
